Changes

I feel like today changes my life. The end of a really good book, but the beginning of a brand new one! Today is hard, but in a amazing way! I put my baby, my 4 (soon to be 5 year old) out into the world on his own today.

The last five years have been some of the highest highs, you and me, discovering the world together, and now kindergarten is here! You got to ride the bus that you once got to watch your sister and brother board and wave them goodbye and watch it disappear, then you waited every afternoon with me excited to see their faces get back off.

I couldn’t be any prouder of you, but I’m also sad I have to let you go and share you with the rest of the world. I hope the world treats you well. I hope you make friends. I hope you find your way through the hallways. I hope you find your lunch I packed you filled with some of your favorite things.

I got one last kiss as you climbed up the school bus stairs with your too big avengers backpack (cuz that’s what you wanted) and awesome red converse that you’ve been bugging me for weeks to wear! I’m so glad I get to be your mom and send you off on this adventure and discover all these new and exciting things in life. You will move mountains.

I will be waiting for the moment you climb down from those school bus stairs and back in my arms.
