Caramel Heath Cream Cheese Apple Dip

I think I stumbled upon this recipe a few years back for one of Cam's fall themed birthday parties, I wanna say I had it at his first birthday party. Well, he just turned 6, so I've been making it awhile and perfecting it. I feel like it was just yesterday when I made it for the first time! It was a hit then and it's still a hit today! All my sister in laws were asking for the recipe, so this is for them. xoxox

I forgot to get caramel when we went shopping for the party this time so I ended up making my own- you don't have to, but I will leave the recipe for homemade caramel on this post as well. The entire recipe is really easy and it's always a hit for a party. I hope you enjoy!!

Ingredients:
1 8oz package of cream cheese, softened
1 jar caramel sauce (unless you want to use the caramel candies)
1 Bag of heath bits (found in the baking aisle with the chocolate chips)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon of milk
1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
Serve with apple of your choice

Instructions:
In the pic above, the first time I made this I just left the cream cheese block whole on a plate, but the last time I made it I mixed the cream cheese up for more of a dip consistency and added the powdered sugar, a splash (1 tbsp) of milk and the vanilla extract. I then put it in a square Pyrex dish to hold a shape. I doubled the recipe for the party which was more than enough!

Once your cream cheese is ready, you're ready to poor the caramel right on top of the cream cheese then go ahead and sprinkle the heath bits on top, I used the entire bag. Now you're ready to cut your apples up and dig in! If you are using caramel candies you'll have to heat them up on the stove first to make them the consistency you need. I also recommend getting a apple slicer if you don't own one! I love ours!
