Let's talk about candles

I don't hate to many things, but there is not a lot that I do hate more then the smell of cinnamon candles/pine cones/ spray etc, I know I am not alone here. So if you're like me you have probably gone the majority of your life disliking fall/ winter candles or scents of any kind. That cinnamon smell literally makes me nausea. The smell of artificial cinnamon pine cones- those things are not allowed in my house and there is no escaping them when you go out shopping, polluting the air everywhere, punching you right in the face for 3 months straight. Real cinnamon is allowed in my house, I like real cinnamon. I don't get the connection with cinnamon and Christmas? Fall- I get that. Cinnamon, pumpkin, spices and apples.

I wanted to share some of my favorite fall candles with you! So as a bath and body works lover just like the next gal, I can say I love their fall collection and I usually stock up! BUT my all time favorite candle is "Fall in Love" by Sonoma and they sell it at Kohl's every year! I also found this Pumpkin and Bourbon one at TJ Max I feel in love with!!

It’s a sunny spring morning in Brambly Hedge!   May days. It’s the end of May, but just the beginning of a lot of things. The days go by fast, but they are so very well spent soaking in all the sweetness that spring gifts to us.  The lilacs and phlox have came and gone. Veggies are now bursting from vines and the soil. Fair skin turns to sun kissed skin and freckles. Outdoor silence turns into the soundtrack of summer with laughter and screams from barefoot children.  We’ve been celebrating birthdays, end of April brother in law’s wedding, Mother’s Day,  picking flowers, cheering our favorite little athletes on, watching our favorite people perform on stage, Memorial Day first boat ride and cook out and we finished up school!  While life is mostly good, there is always the frustration in the things you cannot change that bury themselves deep inside of you until you’re ready to take a deep breath, decide it’s really not your problem, you cannot control other people’s behavior, exhale an

Shortest Month

It’s February!! - well the end anyways!!! The shortest month. Last week we woke up to heavy snow pounding down. This time of year is always deceitful, just when we think our part of the world is that much closer to spring-  the temps drop to chilling and a blizzard hits. Heavy snow that lasts until the sun shines bright each day and slowly melts away. At least there has been sunshine! Wonderful, wonderful sunshine that helps us survive through these dark months and guides us back into the light.  We've been doing a lot of house cleaning and greenhouse visits. Monday and Tuesday there was no school, so we hung out, were lazy, cooked good food. I started writing this as the kids skated around in circles at the ice rink. It was the last day open for the season. When things come to an end, they make room for new beginnings- like spring of course! But now, I’m finishing writing this a few days later. It was a short week, but it feels soooo long. We are ready for the weekend!  Basketball
