Wisconsin trip :)

Pictures from our Wisconsin trip!!

After we got off the plane we drove for awhile and then stopped for a quick lunch at a service station. Everyone got to pick out something different to eat and then we got to sit above the interstate and watch the cars drive by which was pretty cool. The kids played for a few minutes to get some energy out before we had to get back in the car and finish driving to our destination.

Along with spending lots of time with family, (xoxox) we got to go to some of our favorite spots out there including: The Botanical gardens, our favorite food truck and Camden playground!! The kids made me buy that little creepy clown, he rides his bike and he is pretty cute if I must say so. They had it riding his bike toward one of the store employees as they hid behind a shelf laughing.

We got seafood salad, Scotch eggs (my fav), lobster mac & cheese and steak & cheese sandwiches and we couldn't leave without WI cheese curds from the food truck. He has the best food and we always look forward to stopping by the one time a year we are there! Addy picked the botanical gardens to go to. We are usually there in the summer, so not everything was still in bloom, but the gardens are still really beautiful to walk through any time of year.

Grandma wanted to go get some fresh apples so while we were there the kids got to go get lost in a HUGE corn maze. We honestly didn't think they'd find their way out, but they all made it out!

This week back home has been a exhausting one from all that traveling. I'm looking forward to a easy, slow weekend. There are so many pictures of our trip! I hope you enjoy!

Shortest Month

It’s February!! - well the end anyways!!! The shortest month. Last week we woke up to heavy snow pounding down. This time of year is always deceitful, just when we think our part of the world is that much closer to spring-  the temps drop to chilling and a blizzard hits. Heavy snow that lasts until the sun shines bright each day and slowly melts away. At least there has been sunshine! Wonderful, wonderful sunshine that helps us survive through these dark months and guides us back into the light.  We've been doing a lot of house cleaning and greenhouse visits. Monday and Tuesday there was no school, so we hung out, were lazy, cooked good food. I started writing this as the kids skated around in circles at the ice rink. It was the last day open for the season. When things come to an end, they make room for new beginnings- like spring of course! But now, I’m finishing writing this a few days later. It was a short week, but it feels soooo long. We are ready for the weekend!  Basketball

Spring ahead

                                           While I’m out and down with a spell of something that I’m hoping isn’t bronchitis or lead to pneumonia- negative for the flu, COVID and RSV at least, I figured I’d come try and write a little. I’ve been so weak and tired and out of sorts. I’ve read two books this week and started my third.  As spring turns over to summer. The temperatures rise. The rain falls. The grass grows tall. The bugs crawl from their hiding places. The people emerge from their homes, ready to fling open the windows and take in the spring breeze to cleanse the winter blues and dust from their homes. The kids are shooed outside to soak up the fresh air and sunshine. The radio plays our favorite songs. There’s the unmistakable sound of the hose being turned on. Shoes are abandoned in a chaotic pile near the front door and long forgotten. Barefoot running through the grass. Children’s laughter and dogs barking stream through the warm air and grilled food wafts by your nose.

I write.

What an absolutely beautiful life.  Sitting on our front porch with my head on your shoulder, you turn to me and say “look at this little life we’ve built.” 💕  It’s been almost 7 months since I last blogged, so many times I wrote and never finished. I'm always writing. Always writing whats in my heart or mind. I write to express myself, whether it be my wedding vows or about my son's football team winning the youth Super Bowl . I twist and turn the words until they make sense and are ready for me to share out into the world. I used to paint, scrapbook, write poetry and have a ton of other hobbies to pass the time, but for now I just write and take as many pictures as I can. I'm busy building life, homemaking, home schooling, working when I do, trying to be a good wife, daughter, sister, friend and raising my three children- and that to me is the most beautiful poetic thing I can think of.  Someday, there will be time to paint, to travel, but right now, I'm exactly wher
