New Year's Eve

It's New Year's eve!! Time to bring in the new year, all brand new days and a new decade, 2020 here we come! I'm very much looking forward to this new year! It's full of all new opportunity, growth, new adventures and memories with family!

This year-we spent most of it searching for the perfect house -then we fell in love in July with and bought our first home in a town we far longed to be in and started new memories and traditions within it's four walls.

We spent our first summer by the ocean in our new home and dragged home seashells, drift wood and piles of sand in our clothing and made memories to last 1000 summers. We surfed the waves and searched for sea glass in the sand. We sledded down hills, threw snow balls and drank hot cocoa sprinkled with candy cane. We woke up to the magic of being a child on Christmas morning and then got to experience the not so magic of being an adult and clean up the mess of Christmas morning.

We've traveled near and far to visit family and spent a few vacations in our favorite place in NH. This year we've left tracks in Vermont, Cape Cod, Great Wolf Lodge MA, WI, Providence, and Boston.

We killed a couple of pet goldfish and plants.

We grew as partners, individuals and as a family.

Ben changed jobs, I cut down my hours to be home with my family more and they were both very good choices.

I opened up, started on medication and the first time in my life, I feel normal. I don't just get sad and irritable for no reason and take it out on my family.

This next year can only get better!! Step by step all our dreams come alive.

This year I hope to let go of the things I will never be able to control or change. I want to let go of the things that weight me down, and in doing so I will flourish and be happier.

We are happy, healthy and together.

2020 here we come!!!!

Shortest Month

It’s February!! - well the end anyways!!! The shortest month. Last week we woke up to heavy snow pounding down. This time of year is always deceitful, just when we think our part of the world is that much closer to spring-  the temps drop to chilling and a blizzard hits. Heavy snow that lasts until the sun shines bright each day and slowly melts away. At least there has been sunshine! Wonderful, wonderful sunshine that helps us survive through these dark months and guides us back into the light.  We've been doing a lot of house cleaning and greenhouse visits. Monday and Tuesday there was no school, so we hung out, were lazy, cooked good food. I started writing this as the kids skated around in circles at the ice rink. It was the last day open for the season. When things come to an end, they make room for new beginnings- like spring of course! But now, I’m finishing writing this a few days later. The Strength In Our Scars

Mental Health. Depression.  Anxiety.  I know I missed "Mental Health Day", but this is something that needs to be talked about more than just one day in October. This is something that needs awareness and education everyday. More than "40 seconds of action". Come on! I wanted to share this even more when recently I found out a beautiful young girl I know is suicidal. She reached out. She got help and her courage inspires me. What I would do to hold her tight and take her pain away. So let’s talk about it for a second. This has been sitting on my chest and weighing me down for far to long. Something no one likes to talk about. We ALL have mental health. We all have highs and we all have lows, some lower than others. It's something that needs to be normalized. I write.

What an absolutely beautiful life.  Sitting on our front porch with my head on your shoulder, you turn to me and say “look at this little life we’ve built.” 💕  It’s been almost 7 months since I last blogged, so many times I wrote and never finished. I'm always writing. Always writing whats in my heart or mind. I write to express myself, whether it be my wedding vows or about my son's football team winning the youth Super Bowl . I twist and turn the words until they make sense and are ready for me to share out into the world. I used to paint, scrapbook, write poetry and have a ton of other hobbies to pass the time, but for now I just write and take as many pictures as I can. I'm busy building life, homemaking, home schooling, working when I do, trying to be a good wife, daughter, sister, friend and raising my three children- and that to me is the most beautiful poetic thing I can think of.  Someday, there will be time to paint, to travel, but right now, I'm exactly wher
