Rainy Days

It's been a long, cold and rainy few weeks of April here. In between rain drops we've been trying to stay as busy as we can crafting, exploring, playing games and going outside as much as we can. We got through another week of distant learning successfully and we start another one tomorrow. The kids are having a hard time staying focused. One just thinks he can do what he wants, the other just day dreams and stares out the window and blames it on his brother. On a normal school day he has 20 kids in his class with him- how is he distracted with two kids? (LOL) Our daughter on the other hand, has never seemed happier and more herself while spending this time at home- and it looks great on her!

Distance learning, online schooling- is not for us. We need hand on activities to keep little hands busy. We need riveting subjects to blow our minds. We need to be outside getting dirty and ripping holes in the knees of our jeans. We need to get lost in the woods, make believe, scooter down hills and soak up the sun on our skin. We need fresh air, dirty feet, open minds and tired eyes at the end of each day.

The past week we got to go to the beach, picnic at the park and scooter. We went puddle jumping and cuddled our new baby bunny. We are missing family, lunch dates, coffee dates, cousins, friends, but I know they are home safe and the time will come when we will get to hug and laugh with them again.

It's finally May and she has spoiled us with lots of sunshine the first three days she's been here, I am looking forward to what else she has to offer us throughout the month!
