Saturday Thankfulness

We woke up to a fog
Muggy drizzly Saturday morning
Rain drops covering the grass
Glistening in the sun

The type of Saturday morning when you don't move very fast
and don't have any real plans

But I woke up to the love of my life beside me
And I fell asleep with him right there too
In our home
I got to hold my children in my arms
close to my heart
So for that I am thankful
Thankful for them
Thankful for our home

Ben is off working
My family came over to help with yard work
We have a lot of over grown plants in our yard and I wanted them ALL gone
and to start from a clean pallet
It's been really HOT,
but we got a lot done
And hopefully lost a few pounds of water weight sweating

So for family, (and modern tools) I am thankful
For all their good health,
I am thankful
For slowly being able to be with them again,
I am thankful

Thankful for Ben's hard work he's putting in so I can stay home with the kids most days
I get to be the one to get them through school
and not have to worry about tomorrow
And for him growing a company from nothing

Late afternoon a dark cloud covered the sky
and before we knew it there was a passing down pour
and we danced
we raised our faces toward the sky
and let the raindrops cool our skin

We had dinner down at the beach while the waves rolled in and the sun set
I'm thankful for this life we've made
Thankful for another sunset

With all that is going on in the world,
It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day life and worry
That we forget about what is truly important.

Living life
With the ones that matter the most.
The ones right here.
Start by making a difference at home
Giving to others.
Working hard.
Learning, listening.
Fighting for what's important.
