Parties, walks and sleepovers

Here we are, Monday again. Beginning of a new week, blank slate to fill with plans. Summer has definitely hit here. It's been pretty hot most days. We've even had some crazy thunder and lightning storms. For not being able to do much this summer, we have been enjoying every minute and soaking in all the time with friends and family. This sure will be the summer for the books! A summer full of tall, tan, freckled faced children, some with golden hair, some with highlights. Running around in the sun rays. Splashing around in the waves of the ocean with nothing other than a constant smile placed upon their lips. Full of lazy summer afternoons and nowhere to be and nothing to worry about. The summer of stay-cation, family, smoothie bowls, back yard picnics, music on the radio, memory making and a minute never wasted.

We had a birthday gathering last week for Ben's birthday!

We also went for a nature walk with our cousins in one of our favorite spots.

And we had our friends sleepover Thursday night. We swam in the pool, stayed up way to late and went for a bike ride.

We've spent lots of days with cousins, playing, planning, swimming in pools.

The middle of the night
 through the dark
all kinds of giggling comes from the next room
voices in the night
Innocents of childhood
Innocents of childhood friends
Voices keeping me awake
Squished in little beds together
Laughing until their bellies hurt
Late night turning into early morning
Still waking up early and full of excitement
to start a new day with friends by your side
