The ocean was calling......

......so we answered. 😀

This summer.

Is different.

This summer.

Is hard.

For obvious reasons.

BUT

We've been finding local gems to visit in our area.

Avoiding beaches and crowds at prime time.

We've been home everyday.

We get to rest.

We get to eat home cooked meals.

We get to be together, and be present.

We get to hang with family and friends.

We get to ride bikes up and down our road.

We get to walk to the farmer's market.

We found a petting zoo to get kisses from sweet, baby goats and pet big, soft bunnies.

We've made new favorite recipes.

We've definitely got our worth out of our pool.

We found a field of Black Eyed Susan and........poison ivy.

We went paddle boarding.

We stopped to smell the sunflowers.

We rode on a friend's boat and swam to the empty beach from it.

We have family coming to visit on Tuesday for two weeks.

So as much as this summer is hard,

As much as I feel like I'm failing to make it fun for my kids,

to make memories of childhood,

I sure am still getting it done some how.

And little by little our summer 2020 bucket list is getting checked off.

So, even though some days are filled with Lego building in our pajamas and others in the sun on the ocean- it's alright.
