Thanksgiving 2020

Our Thanksgiving.

It was quiet.

We stayed home in our pjs and stayed cozy together and for the first time ever that I can remember, had our own Thanksgiving at home. We made a very yummy turkey and all the sides to go along! We take the day before Thanksgiving for baking all different cookies with my mom. This year, one little boy cranked up the mixer too fast, too quickly, and got a face full, shirt full and counter full of flour.

It was heartfelt.

This has been one crazy, unpredictable year that seems to be never ending, but with everything happening in the world, we have so much to be thankful for every single day and that we are able to live the life we do. I will continue to hold my children a little bit closer as the days go by, as the days and the news get harder to bare.

Our bellies and our hearts are so full.

We have been starting to get in the Christmas cheer. Christmas music playing on the radio, cars driving past with trees on top, driving around searching for houses lit up with Christmas lights. We definitely need all the joy this year. We weren't all together last weekend to go get our Christmas tree, so we will be going this weekend to pick one out and bring it home and decorate the rest of the house- I can't wait. On Saturday night, I will help the kids set out a shoe for St. Nicholas to leave goodies and a new tradition for this household will be born.

All I wanted for Thanksgiving was a piece of my sister in laws mushroom pie-she makes the best, she was sweet enough to save me one!!! My nieces helped me gobble it down.
